young fem strolls through village, wolf companion follow faithfully though straying to the side to sniff or mark several places. few stops are made along the way and few herbs are added to pockets of garment or if to large, into basket. walk takes fem and wolf to main house, and fem enters dicreetly, making way to the celler kitchen, with wolf trailing. hearth is rekindled, and cauldron of water set onto to boil in preparation for meal. several rabbits sit on bench, from fem stroll through woods previously. most had been mangled, but few the wolf had been able to kill quickly. taking these, she exits the kitchen to sit in the warming scottish sun. with knife, she skins and guts each rabbit, throwing unwanted parts to wolf, yet most are kept. re-entering kitchen, she slices the carcasses, moving most bones, and slips the meat into the now boiling water. herbs are added for flavor, as well as few vegetables. exhausted from usually simple task, fem stills suddenly on kitchen stool, large belly now quite obvious yet fem had hidden secret from most people. wolf flops at fems feet, soft whine given and dial placed upon lap.
