Nodding at her statement about the Blizzard Plateaus, he remarks, "They're only halfway habitable in summer. The caravan was very careful to only go there during the warm seasons, otherwise we'd have all died from the cold. It's a deadly, unforgiving place, and even in Midsummer, ice storms sweep through without warning. I don't want to have to go back again; three times is enough for me.
"Then again, the Plains are nearly as bad: no oases, just miles upon miles of grassland, with few edible objects, and fewer creatures. I think my relatives thrive in adversity - rather like those plants you see growing through ash, and require fire to begin their growth cycle."
