Michael, so honorable, so much in love - and the future so doomed because they're trying to make a normal life inside an abnormal place like Section.

I think this is why I've always loved and trusted the character of Michael. Given his past, and his actions, there's a lot going on inside him that he never shows. It's almost as if he resigns himself to ridicule and disgust from other people even before it happens - as if he knows it will do no good to try to explain himself.

To quote Jaron, "POOR MICHAEL!!!"
