...it's been the funniest thing, with looking into this potential aspect of my writing. :-D Like today, I went over to the library (there's a lovely new library they just built, here, with high, vaulted ceilings and arched wooden beams, skylights, a fireside reading area, modern computers--the works :-D) to check out reference books on songwriting. So, I go over to the information desk to ask about books like that, and the reference librarian tells me she had just put in an order for that very book. :-D They had an older version of the book on hand, too, which I signed out and intend to read cover-to-cover. :-D Someone else had just been in there, recently, too, asking about the same subject. :-D
Then, later, I go into a local grocery store to pick up a science magazine for my Dad's Birthday, which was today :-D, and they have a featured display set up with that exact same book on songwriting, only it's the current edition of it. What are the odds? LOL
Usually, I try things, and see how much 'resistance' there is when I start going in certain directions. If I hit nothing but roadblocks, I ease off and try something else. But, there's been a lot of 'green lights' with this endeavor, so far (knock on my wooden head ;-D).
I think maybe the angels are on the sidelines, giving me gentle (or sometimes *not* so gentle LOL *g* ;-P) 'pushes,' as they sometimes do, because they know it's hard to get me to do anything, in the first place. LOL I figure if I was given so much material, so quickly and so easily, I'm probably supposed to *do* something with it. So, I'll attempt my best to do so. :-D
I've been searching for the right form for my writing, lately--prose just hasn't done it for me, yet. I enjoy straight poetry, and will always write poetry :-D, but there'll never be a dime in it, and I've known that, all along. But, maybe something like this will get me going--who knows? Worth checking into, I figure. :-D
As always, I know I've been given gifts and abilities, and I'd like to use them, if I can. :-D Otherwise, I think I'd be in big trouble several decades down the line, when I'm knocking at the Pearly Gates, explaining why I didn't use my talents. ;-D
Thanks for your sweet words and good thoughts, hon. :-D {{{{{{{Cynaera}}}}}}}}} They are much appreciated, that's for sure. :-D Twist my rubber arm ;-D if anything does come of this--and, if not, at least I'll have more paper to line my sock drawers with, n'est pas? LOL *g* ;-P
LOL about the bunny slippers. Did you know that I have *four* pairs of them, now? LOL It's true! Two pairs are identical, from Walmart, and two are from Jaron, bless her sweet soul, that she gave me at CQS Cons 2 and 4--saved my feet and my life, both times, I swear. :-D With all these bunnies in the house, I keep waiting to hear the hip and the hop of baby bunny slipper feet. But, despite giving the adult slippers lots of quality time together, playing romantic music for them, and so on, so far, nada! ;-D LOL I'm still holding out hope, though ;-D, because soon it will be Spring. ;-D
And I remember you, 'chelle, Reeeh, and other sweet souls welcoming me to the Boards, when I was still too shy to even type in prose. :-D Y'all saved my life and my sanity, then, too, when there were some pretty heavy things going on in my RL, and y'all have been doing that and so much more ever since. :-D But, then, that's what friends do, right? :-D {{{{{{{Sunshine}}}}}}}} And that name fits you, exactly, hon, because right from word go you have always been a ray of sunshine in my world and straight to my heart, you precious soul. :-D {{{{{{Cynaera}}}}}}}}}
