Subject: : against all odds.

the shadows chased her, cajoling and pushing her to where they wished her to go. but no, she would not go back to them, never would she return to the realm of tyranny otherwise known as her birthplace. they haunted her sleep and poisoned her dreams, the cruel memories returning to plague her. never would she become blinkered and be curbed back from her will. the same as she refused to become what those pitiful beasts had; broken spirited and dead, dead inside and devoid of love or hope.
in the dripping heat of midday, the pearly mare rambled o'er the vales and hillocks comprising of this her home. curious glances are cast to those also inhabiting the valley, auids pert, weaving the mass of tangled threads bedecking noble crown. ocula take in the sights around her, heart almost bursting with joy. wiry varieagated plume whisks well set rump, teasing hocks and slender limbs. the glorious rays of the sun bathed her coat, motionless she stood, allowing the heat to seep into tired brawn. mirthful whicker rose from vocals and was sent spiralling 'nto air. rest here she would, until the shadows returned for their game.
