My mom never used soap to lube the nozzle, she always used vaseline for nozzle. The bag though was filled hot soapy water and it did cramp and made you really poop. I have heard though that sometimes moms used to lube a rectal thermometer with soap to take baby's or young childs temperature and the soap would stimulate a BM shortly after the rectal temp was over.

I do remember a couple of times as a small child, maybe 3-4, having my temperature taken rectally with the thermomemter lubricated with Ivory soap for the purpose of inducing a bowel movement. I remember it because mom asked if I "felt" anything yet after the temperature was taken as opposed to when Vaseline was used as a lubricant. I do remember my anus burning and eventually having a bowel movement. I received enemas for constipation infrequently, maybe once or twice a year, and Vaseline was used to lubricate the enema tip. Only once, that I remember, was soap used to lubricate the tip. I was 8 and must have been constipated for a few days as I remember mom asking me occasionally if I had gone yet. After a few days, I was sitting at the kitchen table doing homework and mom telling me that she was going to give me "a little water." I saw her go into the bathroom, get the enema bag out, and mix up about half an enema bag worth of soapy water. She had me undress in my room and then had me go into the bathroom and lie on my stomach on a towel on the bathroom floor. As usual, the enema bag was hung from the lower knob of the bathroom cabinet. I remember lying on the floor with my face turned toward the bathtb and waited for the insertion. She went to get the Vaseline out of the medinice cabinet and said she needed to get some as we were out so she decided to lubricate the enema tip with the bar of Ivory soap. I remember looking back and seeing the black tip white with soap. The insertion felt similar to when the tip was lubricated with Vaseline and she opened the clip to start the enema. As usual, she told me to let her know when I felt full or had a stomachache. The usual sensations followed, at first the tingly sensation as the solution streamed in and then the gradual fullness. I looked back at the enema bag to judge how much was left. By the time the enema bag was almost flat, I did feel full and the cramps were kicking in. After holding the enema a bit, I got up and expelled the enema which worked well. However, my anus burned a lot for a good while after from the soap on the tip. When my dad got home, he saw the enema bag hanging from the shower curtain rod drying. He asked mom if she had had to give me an enema and she replied yes. I remember saying that my butt was still burning and she told him she had to use soap as the lubricant. I'm sure Vaseline went on the shopping list!

My mom always used to lubricate the enema nozzle with Ivory soap. It stung me and I didn't like it at all and put up a fuss about it. I even remember telling her not to put it on or use very little. I continued to dislike the enemas because of it.
Finally when my aunt was staying with us, My mom was going to give me an enema, and I said I didn't need one and didn't like the soap on the enema tip. My aunt told my mom to use vaseline on the nozzle and put some hand lotion on it as well, as it didn't cause any stinging. So my aunt ended up giving me the enema and I didn't fuss about it. From then on there was no stinging nor did I fuss about getting an enema from either my aunt or my mom.
I still use that same type of lubricant, vaseline first covered by hand lotion. It's really a nice way to go and slips in to smoothly.
Also the amount of ivory soap used in the soap suds enema was greatly reduced, and eventually was eliminated altogether. My aunt used some soda and a little salt, and I liked that much better and asked her to give me enemas instead of mom. She was more gentle than my mom and seemed to take more time and care with me.
My mom would rather tell me to just get into the bathroom
as she was going ot give me an enema and didn't waste any time about it.
When I felt out of sorts and was experiencing some constipation, my aunt would ask me if she could help me feel better by giving me a "Little Enema". I would agree and she would put her arm around me and take me into the bathroom for loving and caring enema. She would undress me first, sit me on the toilet seat lid and make up the enema talking to me as she did.
She would lubricate the enema nozzel with the vaseline, hand lotion and sit on the lid and gently put me over her lap for the nice "little enema". She started giving me enemas when I was about 6 through about 13. I enjoyed them all especially when I got to be 10.
