The atmosphere of the shop is one of darken'd quietude, the rich smell of freshly ground coffee beans lingering heavily on the air. A warmth vibrates through the interior, a huge difference from the blustering cold of the grounds.
Rubbing his hand together, though careful about the bandage 'pon his palm, the lean young man treads stealthily towards the counter. A small amount of surprise registers within his silver fleck'd orbs, though his face remains somewhat remote - drained, perhaps - since he had expected to wait within a long line. But, at the odd time of day, only a few stragglers relax within the Coffeehouse, sipping complacently at their caffeinated beverages.
A young woman, another faceless student within the college, looks up from behind the barrier of the counter, "What could I get you?" A tiny smile plays on the nameless one's expression, a bit of timid flirtation on her countenance.
The coy appearance of the girl is missed, the handsome Southerner gazing up at the list of various coffees, lattes, and espressos. "A cup of coffee, hazelnut blend." As the words rumble from his throat, he glances towards the young woman who works at the shop. It was a habit for him to make eye contact while speaking.
The steaming brew is placed before him, and Carson simultaneously grasps the cup while laying down the correct amount for the bill. "Thanks."
Turning swiftly, the swarthy college junior chooses a cozy booth near a small window. A few athletic strides carry him its direction.
