Falling into step with the fellow sophomore, the saucy belle allows herself a few more moments to get accustomed to the brisk atmosphere. Two-toned orbs, an odd mixture of browns and greens, watch as each exhaled breath creates an opaque cloud on the bitter cold of the air. A flicker of mild amusement teases her brain for a second in time, at how the air can cause such pain in her lungs as she inhales, yet can also cause such an abstract form as she exhales.
All the while, she listens to Madison's side of the conversation. The tenacious young woman often "walked all over" the opinions of others because of her stubborn nature, but she always heard what they had to say; a good listener. At the first few statements of the other girl, a slight tug is felt in her soul; perhaps a yearning to understand the rough-edged one known as Jordan? As these thoughts slip by Fowler's mind- trying to rationalize the sudden desire- no conclusion is made. Obviously, the exquisite feminine sophomore is completely confused with her personal thoughts and emotions.
Intently deciphering the other's answer to her question, the slender young woman knowingly nods her head. A few tendrils of golden brown fall about her flawless face once more, untidy yet (somehow) fashionable. "I had to fight with my dad just to go to college, and my mom wants me to take domestic courses so I can become a suitable housewife- stay and home and tend to the children. [She fails to mention her father's crude joke that she would more likely become a home wrecker. Of course, there is no evidence to relate this joke to her lifestyle; it's his way of getting back at her for wanting to go to college at all.] I'll major in what I want though, which is biology. I plan on going to med school, and become a doctor of physical medicine." As she voices the demands of her father and the (strong) suggestions of her mother, an obvious distaste for their comments lingers in her voice. Fowler's saucy personality would not allow her to become a nobody or a housewife. And her brother, she hadn't seen him in a few years, so she didn't even known his suggestion. After Carlos had become a bartender, their father had disowned him.
Fowler's entire family was hard to please; absurdly strict and unforgiving. Carlos was an outcast for his career, Fowler for her choice of becoming a doctor. Carson, well, her cousin had always been the "black sheep" of the family- mistreated and misjudged by everyone except Fowler and Carlos. Of course, the family didn't blink an eye when they asked him to keep guard over her...
