Running a hand through his black hair, his lips tighten. "While I have your full attention, X, I might as well ask you what exactly is going on in Infinite Valley that is important for me to know. I have not talked to Apathan recently, and even if I did I doubt he would tell me anything, he is always annoyed when I dive into his herd's business."

The dark king absent mindedly walks around the counters, to stop in front of the garnets. He slides back the glass and reaches in, extracting a necklace of a delicate golden chain and gleaming garnet. He inspects the glittering jewel carefully; the garnet is of deepest red, almost black, and a small fire of light flickers in its center.

Almost tenderly he carries it to where X and Rashkae stand. Silently he holds it out for them to see, the jewel is dwarfed in his hands but is as large as a silver dollar and just as bright. (Sorry, couldn't think of another comparison. The word 'mouse' kept poping into my mind, but who compares a jewel with the size of a mouse?)

Malussinn smiles, "Something like this may do the trick, though I have no taste in jewelery." He shrugs, his hand holding the necklace jerking sharply as if to toss it away.
