Hello everyone!
First of all, I'd like to wish each and every one of you a wonderful new year. If anyone would like a nice treat for yourself before heading back for the Spring semester, I would recommend a pretty good Canadian movie. I rented it from Net Flix; they have an excellent collection of foreign movies. I’m not sure if you can get it from Block Buster, Hollywood, and such....
The name of the movie is “Lost and Delirious”. It is a wonderful yet sad tale of love, friendship, and choice. When the shy teenage Mary B. arrives at a boarding school, she is welcomed and befriended by the two roommates Paulie and Victoria. Soon, Mary discovers something much deeper than a friendship going on between Paulie and Victoria. Sadly, Victoria breaks it off when she is forced to make a choice between the expectation of her ultra-conservative and religious family and the love of her life. Mary painfully witnesses Victoria torn apart by love and fear, and Paulie by betrayal and despair. Mary struggles to remain a loyal friend to both while at the same time confront her own dilema.
Even though the story line may not sound very interesting to many of you, it’s the acting that makes this a good movie. At least I think so. Sometimes their eyes speak more than a hundred lines of script.
By the way, this movie was funded by the Canadian government. It is kind of educational, still it IS interesting. I really hope our government will eventually do the same.
