I'm not so sure that rt's would even be used on "special needs" folks, in light of the quick and painless gadgets on the 21st century market. I think there will soon be a point where all of your vital signs can be taken without human contact, i.e., via an attached wrist band, etc. The trends have changed so much, I don't think that pediatricians use rectal thermometers anymore, or at least fewer of them than in the past. Love is blind, is only a saying, as is I accept you as you are. Reality sets in after time, and some people really are repulsed by anal anything, particularly if they come from certain religeous or cultural backgrounds. There have been laws on the books in many states, that classify anal sex as a felony. I kid you not. So that in itself, should indicate that there are some out there who would consider any one of us to be in need of psychiatric help.
