Subject: The Roost

Indigo had run the Roost for a time, but in the end, had gone back to Cricket. Cricket however, had been about to leave the realm with her son, and Indigo was told she could not go. Cricket did stay for a time, to try and find the girl a home or decent owner, but she found noone, and in the end, would give Indigo a small sum to start a little business. The Stone Oven Bakery. She would be on her own, and Indigo found herself terrified and excited. She would struggle in the bakery for a long time, and though it was never a huge money maker, she surivived alright.
So many roughnecks came seeking Cricket however, the end would not turn out well. She began seeing the handsome Aloysius, and after a violent confrontation between Duel and Cricket, the bakery would be left abandoned and Indigo was taken back into Crickets ownership. Aloysius would not dare to take her back, and so time went on.
A move was taken to Rum Hill, and Indigo would again take up the care of Cricket, Trevor and all the rogues alike. It might have gone on that way for a long time, but Nicodemis came nosing about the cottage, and through his influence, Aloysius would finally come back for Indigo.
Cricket was of course furious, but allowed Indigo to go. She just wasnt going to be allowed back. Indigo, led by her heart, left the care of Cricket for the love of Aloysius.
Unfortunately, he loved the drink more than he did her, and it wouldnt be long before he abandoned her, and broke Indigos heart. She would move back to the only place she felt she had..the bakery, but she would find it nearly impossible to garner the orders she had subsisted on before. She realized, that to stay there, would mean a life of poverty. She took a bold step then, and retook The Travelers Roost. She supposed technically, it belonged to Cricket..but with a stubborn determination, she would have faced even the old Queen. The Roost was hers. She took it as Cricket had taken it, and she would not back down.
Of course she hadnt had to..she had seen not hide nor hair of Cricket since the night she left, and her return to Rum Hill proved that the roguess had moved on with her son.
Indigo missed her terribly.
The Travelers Roost would once again be reopened, its glass and roof repaired, its barn swept out and the bar polished. She had managed to save a little, and she bought what supplies she could. Almost immedietely, she began to have patrons, and a month after its reopening, Indigo had nearly two platinum saved, and half the rooms rented out.
It was still the same...the Roost seemed to be a magnet for the roughnecks and cutthroats, the assassins and the dark of nature, the traveling and the local. Indigo welcomed them all, and did what she could for their comforts.
She still ached deep in her heart for Aloysius..and no other man would send an eye her way...but she struggled on day to day, a soft smile and warm welcome ready.
