Interestingly enough this site was created by me as a VERY angry respnse to a local radio station/website shutting down a forum of which I was an active member for approx 6-8 months . Over time the forum had become MUCH more contraversial in it's subjuects and the innovative ways it's posters contravened and bypassed the existing censorship. In doing so it became MUCH more interesting also. Then D Day , without warning or explanation the station pulled the forum offline . As I had just lost contact with 15 to 20 people I considered as friendly rivals I was enraged and insensed at the casual manner that this was done in. SOOOOO
I hacked into the server that held the database for the BBS and peeled off the Contact list giving me the e-mail addy's of my former comerades. In retrospect this was an EXTREMELY STUPID thing to do but I didn't care at the time and it never came back to bite me in the ass. Quickly setting up this site as an alternative I contacted by e-mail all the posters I remembered and offered them this site to go to . Also being a little younger...10 years ago and more optimistic , I also made the site CENSORSHIP FREE...kinda unheard of for the times . I blamed censorship for the problems that shut down the original forum we were going too .
This old forum was quite active for a few years but slowly the numbers dwindled and I believe it was because I rarely banned anyone and refused to censor the posting content as far as text . The site has lain dormant for a long time with a few of the old regulars popping in once in a blue moon to take a swat at each other. IF for some reason Bubba pulls the plug I would consider it ironic if this old forum could help a second wave of peeps make contact and help coordinate a new home for old friends...
