He explained quietly as he stepped away for just a second to wash up a bit before he came back over and loaded his own plate up - grateful to see they had really provided with burgers and potatoe salad and other easy to go things such as that. He grabbed two bottles of water for him and for Luke since he knew his friend would have just grabbed a soda and would need the way to rehydrate if they were going to be doing heavy lifting. "It's nice that you and Chelle are getting along, she could use a friend." He stated, his voice protective of the girl. He wasn't sure where his normally outgoing and outragous personality was at the moment but he kind of felt like he didn't have to fake anything with this girl. Not that he was a fake person, really, he was just careful not to let his more serious side out very often, especially cuz it worried Luke a lot. He looked over his shoulder at his friend and his girl before he focused back on Whitney. "Want a water or a soda?" He questioned, already reaching into the icey cold cooler to get her whatever she wanted so she wouldn't have to make her hand freeze. It wasn't cold out by anymeans but neither was it summer either.
