Subject: OFFENSIVE MATERIAL AND THE FIRST AMMENDMENT

Ok,

I have taken the time to read PFC's posting. I am in complete and total agreement with his approach. I feel that the freedom of speech issue becomes a mute point as a whole.

1. Because 2am, as I understand it correctly, is home based in Israel. Hence, US constitutional law has no bindings or authority.

2. Because the internet, an international consortium, and as such is bound by no laws of any one country. Point blank and period.

3. Chain of Command, and 2am as a whole, is an INTERNATIONAL community. A place where people of other nations may meet and play games. I have learned so much from people about other parts of the world I normally wouldn't have known before. I have spoken over voice chat with many people and find it interesting the way they perceive life as a whole (not so distant from my perceptions). To me, this is one of the best ways for us to get to know peoples of other nations, to encourage each other to get along and, as lofty as it may sound, maybe, JUST MAYBE, our governments will take notice of how we interact with each other and bring us, the ENTIRE human race, closer together.

I have served in the armed forces of the United States. I have stood the fence to preserve the democracy for which she stands. I have taken lives for her, and nearly lost my own for her. I hold nothing more precious than the liberties our founding fathers have bestowed upon us. I further understand, that with freedom comes responsibilities. The 1st Amendment to the US Constitution grants me, a US citizen, the PRIVILEGE of expressing myself without fear of repression or harm either in the physical or emotional sense. With this PRIVILEGE, there comes a certain degree of responsibility. To me, the responsibility is the manners in which I express myself. In my most humble opinion, the excessive use of profanity is a sign of a self feeling of inadequacy, not to mention an inability to express one's self by other more socially acceptable means. I will say now, when I was a younger man, I cussed worse than a sailor on shore leave. As I have matured in age and experiences, I see now that my expressions dictate other's perceptions of me and mine. I am, whether I choose to be or not, a representative of my nation here in this INTERNATIONAL community. As such, I am a diplomat of sorts. Diplomacy is a very heavy responsibility.

Now, 2am, rightfully so, has mandated that offensive materials in any way shape or fashion may not be distributed on ANY website associated with it. I don't see where this is so hard to understand. 2am has laid public claim that it's community is a "Family" community. As such, they have undertaken a enormous responsibility to ensure the material associated with it does not offend the general public, or lead minors astray. Now, as a parent, I try to protect my children from harm. It is one of the things I hope all parents do with their children. As such, I feel that my children, 10 and 7 are a little on the young side to be exposed to excessive profanity and otherwise pornographic material. If you do not have children, imagine how you would want your child raised. I am sure that you will feel basically the same as I do on it. Do we raise our children to be monsters with no intelligence? OR,do we strive to help them surpass us in our own personal achievements? Can we take this opportunity the internet has provided us to help our children see that people are not so different from each other in the hopes that this little blue ball of rock we call home will come together as one and progress by leaps and bounds as we are meant to?

I believe that we have a golden opportunity to strive past our national boundaries here and enrich each other beyond belief. Let's not let petty things ruin that for us.
