Ya know this new character would be okay if lets say they were maybe already an establish HG person from the new CW. Someone who could add a bit more of a military feel to the show and someone who believes in the CW as much, if not more than Dylan actually does.
I re-read the description and when I get more towards the last half it sounds much better. I can where this person might admire Dylan, at least his past history of 300 years ago, as well as what he has been able to establish. Someone who wants to be like Dylan and perhaps even thinks he is, but Dylan can see he isn't and that this person needs some reshaping. At the same time Dylan might be able to see how he has gotten away from his military upbringing and this guy could pull Dylan back into it, simply because Dylan realizes he has to help mold this guy. Maybe Dylan will see a little of his current self and realize changes need made.
Anyway, I can see it working now. I saw the first half which seem to read like this guy would just be all gaga over Dylan and thought, "this won't work", but as I read the rest and really pay attention to it, it sounds interesting. This guys family wiped out by Dylan and crew, yet he holds no grudge and Dylan feels bad. Could make for some interesting moments.
