Oh, ugh. Auto-immune diseases are the pits. Having your body fight itself is so difficult to treat. Knock back one symptom and hey ho, that causes something else to flare up.

I've a got a good friend with both osteo and rhumatoid arthritis. Some days, she's chipper and hanging wallpaper in the bathroom and going a mile a minute. Some days she can hardly walk. She also has fibromyalgia and a whole lovely set of problems with that but, when I visited her, she finally found someone whose colon was even touchier than hers.

My husband had fun standing outside of ladies rooms all over Cleveland! How the man put up with us is beyond me but he's patient.

And for what's it worth, five years ago, we chucked solid, dependable jobs with retirement and medical and all that, a MODERN house and took HUGE pay cuts to move back to my hometown, buy an old house in need of a lot of work and take jobs that paid a fraction of what the old ones did.

We're doing what we love, rather than what made us money, we're always short of money and have never been happier. So. . .maybe one door will close for your husband but another may open and that one will lead to a better place.

Or not, but my medications are anti-depressives and they keep me cheerful.

Remember to bitch and moan regularly. We're hear to listen and I know a good rant lets off so much steam!
