Umm, how about the ability to conjure animals out of thin air. and then command them, to suit my needs?

That's a bit powerful... How about the ability to posess an animal for a brief period of time? Posess as in what you said in addition to being able to see through their eyes. However, if you stay within and animal too long, your energy will be drained and you may have to remain in the animal... forever.
