Subject: EXCERCIZING

*I come in and groom Midnight Dawning, then I tack him up and mount him. We ride out
of the stable and onto the moonlit path. First we ride under the awning of spruce trees,
growing so close together that you can't even see one piece of night sky. It seems almost
impossible to see the path, but somehow both Midnight and I know the way. As we leave
the trees we find ourselves at a walk. We tred past a beautiful lake. It's gentle waves
lapped up onto the sand and made a beautiful, enchanting sound. I closed my eyes and
began to dream of a love that had been lost. But soon we pass the lake and move on to
rolling hills. We continue to follow the path at a walk untill we reach the top. Then I pull
up on the reins and we stop and gaze at the beautiful full moon, gleaming on the
gorgeous, dark green valley below. Finally, when we had our fill, I set Midnigt into a
canterand we ran down the hillside, wind blowing into our hair and mane. Finally as we
raced through the valley, I felt Midnight begin to tier. I slowed him to a walk as we
entered the forest and began to circle back to the stable. The moon began to lower in the
horizon when we finally arrived. I demounted and ran my fingers through my wind-blown
hair, then untacked Midnight and groomed him gently. Finally I gave him a sugar cube,
but a blanket on him, led him into his stall, then shut and locked the stall door. I put away
all my equipment then headed off to bed and slept peacefully...awaiting the dawning of a
new day.*
