He shoves back his own sleeve on his thigh and shows her his bandaged wrist. "You see that?" He lets go of her wrist and unwraps the bandage, revealing a thick, jagged scar that circles his wrist. It looks as though a rope of some sort had made the mark. "When I was fourteen..." He takes a gulping breath, balling the bandage into his hand. "Well, you get the idea. Same thing, I suppose. When she was done, she hit me over the head--stunned me--and tied me up. By my wrists. From a tree." Swiftly, he re-bandages his wrist and stands up, his chest heaving as he breathes.
