Date Posted: 08:01:11 11/05/07 Mon In reply to: Oropan 's message, "Global warming at it again" on 14:57:12 10/29/07 Mon we have had 14 atlantic tropical storms, more than the average 9 - 10, 2 cat 5 storms, which only happened a few times in history, and we have seen record rates of intensification of both catagory 5 storms and also 2 hurricanes which developed in less than 14 hours, if this is an off year we are in very deep trouble! we are fortunate that the cat 5's missed populated areas this time. When the loss of arctic ice pumps up ocean temps, especially atlantic temps, these cat 5's will become much more frequent. Arctic meltdown is expected to be completed as soon as 6 summers from now, US navy research. >Lowest hurricane season in 30 years! > > >href="http://www.coaps.fsu.edu/~maue/tropical/">http:// >www.coaps.fsu.edu/~maue/tropical/ [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
