Like I said. The deniers have their religion, and it's just been joined by a much bigger one. I imagine it's a happy day at the Marshall Institute. >We >have the missing [human] signature [in the >atmosphere] . . . Are you denying that humans have pushed the CO2 concentrations in our atmosphere up past 380ppm? >we have the IPCC models being wrong . .. Actually they were proven right. The original 1995 prediction was .1 to .35 C/decade; the 2001 prediction was .04 to .26 per decade. (That's the widest possible range, including nightmare and complete containment scenarios.) The actual warming was .13-.16C per decade over the last 50 years, which is close to the center of both predictions. That's probably the single biggest nail in the denier's coffin right there. Predictions were made - and came true. >and >we have the lack of a temperature going up the last 5 >years," Evans said in an interview with the Inhofe EPW >Press Blog. Evans authored a November 28 2007 paper >"Carbon Emissions Don't Cause Global Warming." I recall a 2004 article claiming "there's only one problem with global warming - it stopped in 1998!" Deniers trumpeted that one loudly, at least until 2005 came in warmer than that (per NASA.) Then they switched to hoping that no one remembered their prediction. The 11 warmest years ever recorded have all occurred in the past 13 years. Even though 2007 was a La Nina year (ordinarily cooler than average) it will likely be the fifth warmest year worldwide. Ever. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
