I have to say that I disagree with the idea that there is a 'minimum' that someone's time is worth. People should be allowed to work for whatever they choose, and should have the option to work even if they have few valuable skills. A minimum wage: -Keeps unemployment higher. If a company's business can afford a payroll of X dollars a month, they have to fire people when the minimum wage goes up. -Drives jobs to Mexico and overseas, where labor is cheaper. -Encourages farms/businesses to hire illegal immigrants, since they have to break the law anyway to hire fieldhands for sub-minimum wage.
