I think duncan has worked at a civil service" on 21:44:57 07/07/07 Sat I wouldn't know it from my job either, i am fortunate to have a good union job, but i once worked for a small business where most of the workers were denied health care, vacation, and any other benifits while the bosses became quite rich, and this is happening to more people now, including many white collar workers. I of families where one spouse works for a private company with no medical coverage and the spouse works for a non-profit that gives medical benifits, this is becomming a big drain on non-profit orginazations. Life in america is very tough these days, it is no longer the good life it was when i was young. I live in the past only because i have a union job and i bought my house 10 years ago when it was quite affordable, remove one of those 2 conditions and i would be living a hard life like most people i know. If americans want the social benifits that the people of western europe enjoy, we will have to get it through government action, americans are going to have to stop working hard so their bosses become filthy rich, and start working to make the economy work for us. >job the past few years and there fore does not know >the pressures that people working for someone besides >the gov't have faced such as pay cuts, more hrs , less >medical ins supplied by employers etc. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
