To clarify it one more time....oil companies don't make any more profit per dollar they have invested than the average US company. They do make a lot of total dollars because they are so big.
btw, why fight them...join them by buying their stocks and go along for the read. I suspect some of that interest you are getting on that retirement money is coming from oil company bonds whether you know it or not. When you loan your money to someone...that's how you get interest... the person you loan it to then buys something, like oil stocks or bonds, so they can make money from your money. They don't pay you interest to do you a favor.
