The cities of oman are built in wadis, dry river beds, because these rivers have not run for God (allah?) knows how long. Gonu was the first hurricane ever to enter the gulf of oman, and damage is believed to be in the billions. There has been no coverage of this historical hurricane in the american media, i wonder why. Is is because all the reporters are busy in iraq? Is the media or the government of oman trying to cover up this story? Inquiring minds want to know! Some years ago one of the economic conservative "think tanks" advised the leaders of the oil rich persian gulf countries that they have nothing to fear from global warming, most of the change will occur in the norther lattitudes.
