Dear Elena:
One of the wonderful things about making your own cosmetics is that many of the ingredients you need are probably in your kitchen, or are available locally. By purchasing some of your ingredients locally you will save money on shipping costs (which can be quite expensive) and you may also save money on the price of the item. Some of the items that you should be able to purchase locally are:

*vegetable oils (at grocery stores and health food stores)
*dried herbs (at grocery stores and health food stores)
*epsom salts (grocery stores in the first aid section)
*sea salt (health food stores)
*cornstarch (grocery stores and health food stores)

Before you spend any money I suggest that you plan your purchases. Here is how to do this:

1. Write down each item that you need.
2. Go to your local grocery store, health food store and craft store and see what they carry.
3. For additional suppliers look in your telephone book under "bottles" for suppliers who sell containers and "health food stores" for any more health food stores in your area.
4. For supplies that you cannot find locally or at a reasonable price, order our guide "Soaps, Cosmetics and Perfumes - A Directory Of Suppliers For Home Crafters" (available at www.MakingGoodScents.com). In this directory we have categorized many different ingredients and supplies. Under the description of each ingredient and supply we tell which company in our directory sells that item. You can use this directory to do some comparison shopping before you make your purchases.
