  • Strawberry – Dancing Brumby’s rainbow (an old strawberry roan stallion)
  • Yarran – Moon filly (Wurring’s dam, and belonging to Winganna)
  • Fire – The colt at taparoo (The son of Sprite, also a red-chestnut colt, burning with the fire of the sun)
  • Sprite – the colt at taparoo (A fiery chestnut stallion who dies when dreamer and Fire are introduced to the herd)
  • Queen - the colt at taparoo (a mean-tempered black mare who is jealous of Dreamer and her beautiful colt, Fire)
  • Dreamer - the colt at taparoo (the sweet brown mare who mates with Sprite and has his son, Fire)
  • Buzz – the colt from snowy river (a great, shining bay stallion who lives with the reid family, but leaves them to run free in the mountains with Yarrawa)
  • Nooroo – snowy river brumby (the fast brumby foal of Buzz, is injured but nursed back to health by the reid family, spends half his time running free with his few fillies, and the other with his round white mare, Honey)
  • Honey – a tame white pony mare owned by the reids, and belonging to Nooroo
  • Yarrawa – Means ‘lone’. A beautiful bay filly, strange and lovely who tempts Buzz into the wilderness
  • Jounama – dancing brumby’s rainbow (the minature daughter of Strawberry, her name means ‘snowflake’. She is very small with a white coat and a mane and tail of pale strawberry roan. She ends up belonging to
  • Choopa, the dancing brumby)
  • Meriki – the daughter of Buzz and Yarrawa, a small bay filly. (thanks to Topaz)
