I would like to voice something, and would like some other teams opinions here. I looked and added up all the bids that the D-Backs made, and it totaled over 80 million dollars. Now isn't that a little absurd to bid more than your entire salary cap on players with bids on guys like jeff Shaw at $8 million. I'm sure I'm not the only person who had players bid on at absurd prices by this team on guys like burkett and smoltz at 5 mil while proven closers like nen and hoffman only make 6.6 mil. I was just wondering what other people felt about this.

It does seem as though he was throwing a lot of money at a lot of players, but he probably knew he'd only win the bid on a few of them. I think he was just being aggressive. Now, if he had won the bid on a couple more of the guys, his team would have had serious problems. I do think 8 mil for Shaw was a bit much, but sometimes needs are so great that you just have to do what you have to do.

i know you have had issues on this bidding too high on players .. so this is what i will do .. from this point forward there will be a salary cap of how much money you can bid on free agents .. and you will not all have the same cap .. say you finished first in the league .. you will have the lowest cap because you do not need free agents that bad seeing as you won .. but teams that finish last will have a higher cap and so will the 2 new expansion teams that join next year .. this should work out for the best

what about Juan Enarcacion? he is 25 1.5(if new salaries he is 1.5 if old .44)

had 13 HR is a BIG TIME pitchers park he is in a way better park in cincy(still pitchers) but I think he can hit 20 HR 15 SB .275

im looking for a cheap SS or a solid catcher(NOT EXPENSIVE)

I think I do. when you want to bid on someone e-mail the players name and the money your bidding to commish. you get 1 bid per a player. I just didn't understand the 4 million thing is it if you bid over 4 million the player must stay in the bigs for at least 1 month? I think thats what it was.

the thing I was wondering about is.

How do we know commish doesn't look at the highest bid and just keep bidding on the player he wants? or are we gonna have a co-commish to take his bids? or are we just gonna have to trust him?(I dont want to cause he has as much as money as me lol)

about the expansion managers how everyone releases 2 guys from minors 5 from big leagues.

I say to make it fair for expansion managers the 5 players you release must have a certain amount of AB's in the big leagues are started the season on your big league roster(so you cant bring up a minor leaguer in october and give him away instead)

did I explain that good? cause I just dont want the expansion managers giving up with a sucky team

well I got lieberthal at C and crede at 3B it will be harder to get crede cause we already talked about him and I dont think we can get something done but hey its possible

if to pick a minor league player in the MLB draft he has to play at least 1 game. well it should be the same rule for minors draft. cant play 1 game in MLB anyone else think this is a good rule? because beckett would have gone top 2 rounds in the MLB dont think he should be allowed in the minors.

or is the minors draft for any player who will still be a rookie next year? please clear these things up

I just dont understand if the guy is a FA why do some people have them still? example the Nomo trade. I mean whats the point of trading for him if you have to bid on him with everyone else?

everyone has like a week to bid on all the players. the bids are kept secret until the time period is up, then whoever has the person bidded on has to match it plus 10%. example- park is a free agent, i bid 15 million on him and i have highest bid, i either get park for 15 mil or dodgers can match 10%. so he would pay 16.5 million for him.

1st question - trade clause is anythng ou can thnk of. EX. if san fran and white sox makes a trade--- kent for carlos lee. you can make a clause, if kent doesnt hit .300 in 2002, then white sox would carlos lee and san fran would get kent back.

2nd question - you can trade your players that are free agents, if u trade wells to yankees then yankees can re-sign him at 10% of the highest bid.

i hope this is right, cause it's my understanding. i hope this helps.

my understanding is that you can put anything in a clause-
like if someone gets hurt you get compansated-next year draft pick/money/a different player, ect.

like what dbacks said if i trade them t. gordan and there is a clause that if he doesn't get 30 saves then i would give the dbacks something then if he doesn't get 30 saves i give him the arranged stuff/people

i think the trade for jeter was pretty good actually, he will be a great addition to an already powerful team my starting lineup will be pretty good, the only thing i need is a closer and thuings will be great for me in years to come!

1 - only from non-taken teams or that are from your majors roster

2 - I will tell you when i have a date .. I said that b4

3 - You resign someone by reading the damn free agency rules .. not that hard .. i even gave an example

4 - You cannot . look at the alomar trade .. im sure you understand what I am saying .. managers cannot veto someone elses trade in real life, so y should this be an exception?

5 - They cost whatever the salary page says .. if they are not listed then they are 200,000
