Subject: Ok. What portion should parents get? And then pay back to teacher for extra lessons
In reply to: Many many shows 's message, "At least the parent association should receive a portion of the funds to be used for all dancers. When charging $200 and above, certainly adds up." on 04:25:46 03/16/24 Sat

If you don’t understand that performing opportunities are just that, regardless if the teacher is paid (which they should be) then don’t do them. If you think about a show prep might be 30-60 minutes pre-show. Take an hour class and pay that to teacher. So what, 20 or 30 or 15 to the teacher for the extra instruction pre show. Then the cost of show choreography and time for music selection, mixing and royalty fees that the teacher pays. Divide that by the number of students as a fee. Then how much is your dancer worth for a 30 minute show? Are they the headliner? Also what about the shows that don’t pay? Do you pay your teacher for that time? Again, don’t like it? Don’t do them. So so simple.
