Subject: Welcome to the Fishermaniac's Forum

I am creating this forum with the hope that other fishermen and gals will find it useful for obtaining hot-bite tips in Northern California.

Too often, the tradition web sites provide information that is way late, or exaggerated because it is provided by either marinas (that sell bait and boat launch services) or by guides who just make money hauling your butt out for 8 hours of watching the water ripple with no fish.

This forum is for people who like to fish... and are willing to share their hot-bite info.

For example, I have a great spot for the spring time Stiper run down by Nimbus Dam. Right after the weir, in the late spring or early summer, you can cast a big silver-black shad rebel out into the water and drag it back fast. Or you can use a rainbow pencil-popper and drag it across the top.

Using this technique (17lb ultralimp or 10lb line) I have caught a 26 pounder, a couple 15-20 pounders, and many many in the 7-10 pound class.

LOTSA FUN!

If you have some tips, recent catches, this forum should be useful. I realize that it is the dead of winter and the bite is gonna be slow, so feel free to share stories or tell about places you know that will be hot later on.

Good fishin!

Fishermaniac
