Subject: Koreanism, UMFism?
In reply to: Daniel 's message, "Re: Is UBF a real CULT!" on 06:16:56 04/08/05 Fri

I thought there was something wrong with me!

I don't know you, but let me tell you that one of the hallmarks of SAE's is that they make you feel that the problem must be with you, when in reality they are problematic.

A proper Christian Church should make you comfortable and at ease - if a group doesn't manage that, then be alert, you have reason to!

I thought that maybe I did not understand the Korean culture well enough.

If you study recent articles on this board, you will find that they'll even pull the "racism, cultural misunderstanding" joker as a last resort when they really are cornered about their abuse.

I have Korean friends who know little about UBF other than one SWS attendance - and let me ascertain you, they understand as little about UBF as you do. It's not lack of understanding of Korean culture, but lack of understanding of the UBF cult-ure :-(

UBF appeals to Korean national pride at times, but the nation of Korea is probably not so proud of having UBF in their country.

But I'll repeat in the end: they make you feel uneasy, and you better heed that feeling, it shows that there's something wrong.
You don't need to really delve into what exactly might be wrong since UBF is so squirmy and wiggling that you'll never get a grip of what is really wrong with those guys - just avoid them.

In Christ,
Mike K.
