But Chris,

your link itself tries to say, how "indoctrination" as they put it, is exercised in medical schools. In other words it is a phenomenon or our times and not simply something exercised in cults. So instead of trying to label somebody as "indoctrinated" or "manipulated", just try to understand somebody and try to stick to the facts without labeling. As a matter of fact you are falling in the "ad hominem"-fallacy trying to label your discussion partner and avoiding to answer to what he actually says. So the accusation of indoctrination becomes an "own goal".

Let's see the definition of "indoctrination" from the vatican (the chief indoctrinators themselfes):

1) Sudden, drastic alteration of the victim's value system.
--> Drastic? Yes. Sudden? Not at all. We have clear reasons, why we change, and we need also time to change, like every newborn christian.

2) Reduction of cognitive flexibility and adaptability.
--> Well, I would not adopt a false doctrine or should I? But I am willing to learn from Jesus more than ever before.

3) Narrowing, blunting or distortion of affect.
--> Since I know Jesus, I have inner peace.

4) Psychological regression.
--> No idea, what that means.

5) Physical changes, including weight loss, deterioration in physical appearance, mask-like facial expression, with a blank stare or darting, evasive eyes, or a puppet-like cheeriness....
--> Very funny indeed, but not applicable to UBF in general.

Once again, let me quote wikipedia on "indoctrination" (who would tell, that the liberal wikipedia would offer me arguments in this discussion)?

"
Indoctrination has accumulated negative connotations over the past century. As a result, it is difficult to distinguish it from education, without raising genuine issues of controversy, and some spurious ones too, for no one wants to be informed that they are indoctrinated. Expressions like "common sense" show us how thoroughly indoctrinated we all are. Expressions like "Religious instruction" demonstrate how the word "indoctrination" is commonly avoided.
...
No human being is perfectly rational, dispassionate and neutrally skeptical. But the aims and techniques of indoctrination can still be assessed."
