O.K. some of you nay- sayers. I want you all to know I did read the whole thing before I made a comment here, and I did consider my words carefully before speaking. I will stand by my words against Paul Hong to my death. How is that for extreme (not unlike some current UBF supporters eh!!!)

Paul Hong would have deceived his own parents if he thought it would have gained him a power position in the UBF heirarchy. But instead he decided to stab his best friends in the heart!!!

I knew Paul Hong pretty well during the late 1970's through 1990, long enough to see him develop from a poor mouthing, unkept human being who loved playing the victim. He loved using his friendship with James Kim to further his position within UBF. James Kim was loved by almost all American student's and parents who came in contact with him (and his family). Regardless of how little monies James and his family possessed, it was always accepted that it was shared generously with Paul Hong's family.

When Paul and Sarah Hong lived in Bowling Green no students ever wanted to study with them. The students would rather drive from BG to Toledo to study with James or anyone else from the Toledo center (that included Don Kuper and Mark Gambler). I was a friend of Don Kuper's and I will never forget the stories of weird behavior he told me regarding Paul Hong. I promise to disclose all of this in my forecoming composition about my time in Toledo UBF. I can support every word of what I am writing though other former members, including James and RBS Kim.

The bottom line is that the Toledo UBF chapter went from being one of the few UBF chapter's based on the truth of the Gospel, (only intact while James Kim was the chapter leader!!!) to a disgusting money making cult for the UBF machine. If any current Toledo chapter member cares to discuss this further, I will be delighted to do so, with a warning to you ahead of time. While I was in UBF, I was considered to be a "white horse" by James Kim, himself. I am and always have been very strong in telling the truth, so if you can't stand the heat, don't come sit in my kitchen!
Brian, you and any other current Toledo, chapter member have my sympathies. I have nothing but pity for you. I will not call you names or take the low road, but I must tell you that when it comes to the Toledo chapter of UBF I have lots to say about the history of how that chapter came into being. I will also tell you that if you ever have an opportunity to read any published writings by James and RBS on the net, do so. You will be enlightened. Every single word is the truth. If you do not believe me, I will personally provide you with the names and phone numbers of my sister and my parents, as well as the parents of other folks who were UBF members at that time. None of them were directly involved with UBF as members, but each of them can tell you about James Kim's honesty, and the story behind their abusive treatment by the Hong and Issac Kim family.

I want to also say here that I realize that my comments sound like more bitterness and woe from another disgruntled former member. I wish what I am trying to say here and elsewhere would not be perceived in that way.

I truely believe that in the Toledo and Columbus chapter's of UBF (in the beginning) the genuine Spirit of the Gospel was present. The sad truth is that there were certain people within the UBF system who discovered just what a cash cow devoted American student's could be, and money became the name of the game. Everything went downhill from there. All very sad, but very true.
