The founder, Berg, used the Bible as justification to send women out of prosititutes to attract men to the group.

Yes, that was one of the "features" of the group for a long time (probably today it is not used any more officially). It was called "flirty fishing" and justified with the Bible and the absolute need to fish people. If you have a "end justifies the means" approach, everything is possible. Though UBF is less extreme, the basic problem of end justifies the means and ethical compromizes in the name of "world mission" is the same. Bonn UBF even used a rudimentary form of "flirty fishing" for recruiting members. Ex Bonn members reported that Peter Chang explicitely requested the women missionaries to dress up, put paint on their face etc. (while in other UBF chapters, women were reproached for doing the same). If "getting more members" is the ultimate goal that justifies every means, then everything is possible, starting with deceptive recrutiment, but not ending there.
