The missionaries might even add how the ancestor used to be selfish, proud, and rebellious man filled with much anger and bitterness.
Yes, and even so, they elaborate on details that probably never happened.
Just as it happened to be, the "ancestor of faith" in my chapter was a regular student with little regard to daily life, absorbed in studies.
UBF introduced him as "living in a trashcan, looking like a Neanderthal, fatalistic, hopeless, suicidal candidate" and other things.
Usually, the "life testimonies" of UBF members which are presented when "new ones" are around are total exaggerations both of the past (see above) and of the present ("now I am a great Shepherd, a hope for this nation") as well as the future ("And God will raise house churches through me") and I don't even know if that is delusion or just show - for many, it's probably quite delusional already simply because they said it so often.

The young, naive student, knowing not what goes on behind the scenes, will think "Wow, if they can help a person with such gross problems, maybe they can help me with my little problem also".
The reality is, UBF doesn't help you with any problems - but they simply tell you "If you do what we order, the problems go away, if you don't, you will get much worse."
It results in "magical thinking" where people simply deny the existence of the problems as long as they're under mind control, but as soon as they have a minute to think for themselves (which can be effectively prevented with thought stopping techniques) they might realize that UBF is just a big eyewash and that nothing was ever really solved.

But praise the Lord Jesus Christ, He is the reality and He can really solve all of our problems.

In Christ,
Mike K.
