Stan, their God is indeed pretty strange, so they are also strange. Their God supports hierarchical structures of obedience, supports untruthfulness, doublespeak and dishonesty and every means when there is a "good" end that justifies it. Their God supports forced abortions, arranged marriages, beatings and misappropriation of offering money. Their God allows the use of mind control techniques to make people believe all of this. Their God is also a God of people with an elitist attitude. You are right, you don't need their God.

But maybe you want to start searching for the real God, who is just and holy but at the same time loving and merciful. A God who wants to have a personal relationship with you instead of insitutional relgion, who wants us to have a genuine, frank fellowship of love instead of hierarchical and controlling structures. There are a lot of good and healthy books, web sites and churches around.

You would be able to refute them not only on a psychological/sociological level, but also on a theological level. And maybe some of them are not the ***s you believe they are. You don't see their "true selfs," you only see their mind controlled elitist "cult selfs". You see the zombie that UBF has made out of them. Have a little bit mercy with them. When they are criticized, they will only start to believe they are "presecuted" and strengthend in their elitist attitude.
