Like a big elephant, the unwillingness of UBF leaders to confess, confront, or repent of what has happened in UBF blocks the way to a change toward real Godliness. Members try to look the other way and whistle, but the path is still blocked.
No members post here that the problems are all "false slander." The new word is "Things have changed." This is great. But have they really changed? I think it is impossible for genuine repentance and change to occur without confession and repentance. All that has happened in UBF is public knowledge therefore the confession and repentance must be public.
Also, IF the change is real, and that is a big "if" then it is only because of people who are willing to discuss the issues before God's word, something UBF has not done. Why not make the "change" complete and permanent by fully discussing, confessing, repenting, and taking steps to insure that future alledged abuse can be properly dealt with?
When I ask these questions I only get a stony silence from UBF people.
In the mean time the elephant is sitting in the path and is not moving.....
