J, you are in the "lovebombing" phase now. They will not be too pushy, they will be nice and kind to you. The teaching is not completely wrong, but the subtle deviations from the Bible which you will not notice in the beginning are disastrous. For instance, they teach that you need authoritarian, hierarchical structures in the church (they call it "spiritual order"), whereas Jesus says authoritarism and hierarchical structures are wrong (cf. Matthew chapter 23 for example). Typical for such authoritarian cultic structures is that in the end, the leaders are regarded as spiritual "fathers." You can see this in UBF as well. Jesus explicitely forbids to call anybody "father." In UBF, Samuel Lee was considererd the spiritual father of every member. Sarah Barry now even has the official title of "Mother Barry." You may think that authoritarism is only a small deviation from the Bible, but it is serious and has many bad fruits. Of course, now, in the "lovebombing" phase, you won't see too much of the authoritarism in UBF. You will only experience it later. That's why so many fall into the UBF trap. Before you are indoctrinated, you don't see the authoritarism. Once you are indoctrinated, you will experience it, but you will believe it's normal.
