Subject: Leadership and "thank for beating me"attitude

For me and my wife also, SL's attitudes seems to be accetible. They can be a kind of strong leadership. so many thankful missionaries for SL!
There is no doubt that SL was a strong leader, though I am not a Korean, I must say < it is quite appreciable to have such a nationalistic leader,( Was Hitler bad in leadership qualities?( See how Saddam Hussain could keep all these Shiites and different sects of IRAQ under control with "strong leadership" compared to the’ leadership qualities of American military which is bleeding in chaos even after the strong leader is toppled.))
Objectively speaking, when I was addicted to UBF, even I had appreciation for Samuel Lee, with my knowledge and assumption about the way things are done in UBF Chicago and world wide. I am sure lot of people who are still trapped in UBF BELIEVE the propaganda - how nice he is stretching the Gospel /World mission to the ends of the world! Even after leaving UBF, i considered Samuel lee as a visionary and use d to admire him as a visionary and spiritual man( Not knowing the truths till I read them in the internet about 8 years after quitting a remote chapter of his CULT. )
But then, the impression I had about soviet Union was also great, whenever I listened to radio Moscow and Pravda news reports)

I think what we should closely look at is not the leadership qualities, but the fruits of those leadership qualities, which produced, forced abortion, abuses, misappropriation of public offering money, arbitrary selfish management, un biblical teachings and practices, manipulations, cover ups, stonewalling in front of criticisms, denial of truths, lack of a mindset to acknowledge past mistakes & true repentance, closed minded ness... and so on.
I don’t disagree with your statement that many of those abused, and manipulated "missionaries , even today enjoy and miss some one who was abusing them.
pain is a form of pleasure for some people. Recently, someone in Germany wanted another person to kill him, so human mind is a very complex thing.
Many people who were kidnapped and subjected to mental torture, by terrorists, FORGET all their pains, when their captors, stop it and offer them a piece of bread and tell them, we did beat you, and torture you out of love, now you area free bird and we free you out of love...(to make someone "feel HOT" 0 degree Fahrenheit is to take him to minus 30 and then increase the temperature to 0. Unfortunately, someone at 80degree Fahrenheit will say 0 degree is cold.)
I don’t see much difference in the way sadistic(Samuel)Lee trained the slaves under him, and the way those slave missionaries enjoyed every minute of it, and keep bragging about it as a nostalgic thing.
