Subject: Only in preaching?
In reply to: Brian Karcher 's message, "Re: Obedience" on 08:36:53 10/11/04 Mon

When the authority of man, religious or otherwise, conflicts with preaching the gospel, we are directed to obey God not men.

Let's keep the question simple: is that referring to preaching of the Gospel only or towards anything which is commanded in the Bible?
For instance, a man tells you to kill.
Do you obey this man like you would obey God or do you believe that the canon is closed and "thou shalt not kill" MEANS what it says and you disobey that person.

Do you believe that God prefers obedience towards men towards obedience towards His written word in ANY circumstance?

In Christ,
Mike K.
