Actually, one thing just came to my mind, it seems like TACO's (Totalist Aberrant Christian Organizations) in general go a big loop around the term "charity work" and try to put our attention elsewhere.
In a WLC interpretation, this passage is summarized as "the Greek-speaking and the Hebrew-Speaking community were having language problems, which resulted in an elitistic attitude of the Hebrew-Speaking. Something needed to be done to restore the oneness". Again, a TACO completely turning this passage to fit into their doctrine rather than addressing the serious problem at hand.
Charity is a very unpopular word in TACO's, because charity involves two things:
first, spending time with people who are not in the same mind-control environment, and
second, giving without being repayed.
Those two things don't fit these systems, that's why charity is neglected, degraded and/or belittled.
UBF belittles charity as "humanistic attitude", but they don't offer a better solution, they'd rather see the orphans and widows outside their centers than inside, because they have nothing to give.
