That article contains one point which I found quite typical for a cult mindest:
you read or see something which you KNOW is aberrant, yet you'll just shove it aside because it might just cause you to have more doubt. You just trust that "it's all just a misunderstanding" and probably even on your own part, because ... well, the group IS right, and you KNOW it. At least you think so.
What has to happen for a cult member to admit that something against this cult is actually true and NOT a misdunderstanding but that the group's doctrine or practice is wrong?
It requires an open mind. When a person has "locked" their mind to firmly believe that everything contradicting the "perfect world" within the cult is wrong, then everything will bounce off.
Until the leaders admit their error.
And this is why the leaders have, according to the Holy Word, much higher responsibility and much more will be asked from them by the Lord.
