I personnally don't have a problem with women in roles of leadership. I belive a woman is an equal partner. But a man also needs to stand up and be a man. A woman should not dominate him. It should be equal.
While I do believe that Paul is serious about the issue of household order, you make pretty much the most important point:
if a woman has to be responsible for a church, it means that compared to the standard which Paul has set in the Holy Word, all the men in that congregation are a failure because they are not capable of bearing the headship role which God ordained for them properly.
While there certainly are women that are better capable of leading a congregation than most men, it should encourage the men to do their best.
Men should not be content in being second to a woman (no sexism implied: it should be a challenge to the men in such a situation!). If they cannot, well - they failed. But the biblical principle is not such that men are all less capable than a woman.
