One more point:

BJ also wrote, "I believe SB's sincerity in this event." Unfortunately, hypocrisy and sincerity often go hand-in-hand. Sincerity does not prevent us from being hypocritical. Hypocrites can be the sincerest people on earth. Barry could have been perfectly sincere on this rare occasion of telling someone not to say that they admired her. But she would still be hypocritical.

A biblical example of such sincere hypocrisy is David in 2 Samuel 12, especially verses 5-6.

David saw his hypocrisy and repented. Barry has not repented, at least, not publicly.
