Well... I personally don't mind the idea, but I don't know how it fits in with this game... But however, there are some humans that are gifted with psychic ability... And it probably happened back in the time this game's set in too...
Yet, this sort of skill (animal communication, mostly) is included in the whole shaman package... Maybe not names, but the animal thing. If Branwen doesn't show up in a while, you could try to become your clan's shaman... And get the rest of the skills that go along with it. IF Branwen doesn't show up in a while.
So... For now, I'm going to say yes, Clair can be psychic. Don't abuse it - use it sparingly. If you do consider later becoming a shaman (which would be encouraged, because I'm really, really reluctant to let you go along with this without encouraging Clair to become a full-shaman to abide by the rules I'm laying out for the rest of the game... I really don't want a group of psychics running around, and I don't want people crying 'that's not fair, she's psychic and not a shaman! why can't I be psychic?!'. Seriously consider upgrading to shaman - please?), then just come to me and we'll work out some trial for you to go thru... Nothing too difficult.
But, I'm warning you: abuse it and I'm gonna take the privelege away from you. K? Currently, you're a special case. Nobody else is psychic right now. Nobody else, unless they're a shaman, WILL be 'psychic' right now.

And... Before you go scampering off to use these granted powers, I would like to set a few guidelines for you. What specific skills do you want her psychicness to include? I will not allow thought reading to the full extent it can go to - names are fine. Listening in on peoples thoughts - nope, sorry. So, what powers do you want to have? Currently, I gather these two:
-mind reading to the extent of names
-some animal communication
Both are fine with me. Anything else you want to add?
