Seeing the suddenly-appearing tiny animal, the male cub does what any naturally curious youngster does - pounces it. Paws over four feet wide come together in a cupping motion, clumsily blunt claws unsheathed as the heavy beast settles back on his haunches, lifting both forepaws to peer at Collie. The blow had been cupped around the stranger's form, so probably didn't kill it, but the playfully dangerous expression the male wears is that of a young kitten learning how to hunt mice by playing with ants. The mother snorts, apparently accustomed to such delays in their travels, and the female cub hunkers down lower, soft belly pressed against the earth. Her golden eyes seem far more intelligent than her brother's as she examines TFD, nudging the stranger once more with her snout lightly.

A panting and running sound is suddenly audible, though obviously belonging to a 'normal'-sized creature. A rustle in the bushes near the reptile, and a dark brown form hurtles over a fork in a tree twenty feet up, landing about two feet from the young male cub at his haunch. The wolf-like creature seems shocked by her misjudgement and freezes, unmoving, though both broad ears swivel back to listen behind her, fur bristled. Apparently, the Tlaemaes hadn't let this native pass through their home peacefully either. If this beast wasn't about five feet at the shoulder, she could almost be mistaken for a wolf from earth, though clear intelligence sparkles in her yellow eyes as she observes the strangers, confused but not daring to move for fear of being stepped on.
