In reply to: I recall hearing that when they discussed W!!! 's message, "They keep using the phrase "lowering expectations" in reference to Palin" on Thu, October 02, 2008 6:45:38

the vice-presidential debate. I thought Sarah held her own and gave as good as she got.

I thought Biden’s only effort was to keep tying McCain to Bush and I don’t think anyone wants to tie themselves to Bush, least of all McCain so I’m not sure pounding that home was a good idea for the Dems.

I also thought it quite cheesy for him to find a trajectory to include his dead wife and daughter into the debate. This was a political debate, not a please shed some tears for me debate.

Neither told me what the plan was. They say they have a plan but they’re not telling me what it is. They are going to win or end the war. They are going to fix the economy. But how? Do you know? Nothing about Social Security. Nothing much about healthcare.

I used to love the show with Brette & Bart – now I never want to hear it again. Did anyone count the number of times “Maverick” was said?

To me, it was more or less a ‘nice to meetcha’ exchange of pleasantries. If anyone’s mind was changed with this debate, I would be duly surprised.
