Hope everyone is well, happy and looking forward to the next debate this Wednesday. That second debate was kind of weird, what with McCain walking around all over the place. I didn't really go for that 'town hall' meeting approach. I wonder if McCain is going to say anything directly to Obama about that 'Weather Underground' fellow Ayers, or if Obama is going to ask McCain about his Veep's 'visiting preacher' from Africa who 'laid hands' on Ms. Sarah to keep her safe from 'witchcraft'. I really just want to hear the facts about the Economy and when the heck we're going to get out of Iraq, not all these crazy 'attacks'.

Well, is everyone ready for the rollercoaster ride on Wall Street this week? I mainly blame the Republicans, because of the free spending Bush has been doing the past 8 years on everything from his invasion of Iraq to giving the rich and super-rich tax cuts, PLUS the majority in Congress from 1984 to January 2007 were the Republicans, who are known for being the DeRegulators of Wall Street. Sure, Wall Street is sunk now, but before, it was like: Wall Street doesn't need the Government to 'babysit' them or 'make sure they are doing right by their clients'. Now, since the bottom is falling out, Republicans want to blame Bill Clinton (what; are they going to blame Clinton for everything that happened since the Great Flood?) because he wanted to make sure that us minorities were getting a fair chance at owning a home (if we could afford it) instead of being passed over because certain people didn't want us to move to 'their' neighborhood. This had nothing to do with the housing crisis because all it did was make sure people who had the down payment for a house and good credit were able to get mortgage loans from the banks and lenders instead of being discriminated against. ***The problem was that people were trying to sell these homes at such ridiculously inflated prices and the banks and lenders were offering low interest (for at least the first few years of a 15 year or 30 year mortgage) loans to people they knew could not afford the payments after the low interest rate was increased. Of course, people who wanted to buy a home using the variable rates should not have even signed up or been allowed to get a variable interest rate adjusted mortgage, since they too knew that they could not afford to make payments after the interest rate would jump; but the greedy lenders wanted to get easy money. If the banks and lenders had been REGULATED, this would never have happened; but the Republicans want so little government involvement in any type of business, so they got what they wished for and now we are all feeling the terrible results of their Deregulation policies.***
