I only have a few minutes to post a message before I have to leave.

Reading your message--yes, I do go overboard with CAPS. I should stop doing that and you are right to correct me. No problem with that constructive critism. If I start doing it again without realizing it, just let me know.

Yes, I wish that none of our children, brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, nieces, nephews, etc... had to go fight in Iraq for this war. I completely think in this situation that there can be no middle ground. I'll explain:

So, the excuse for invading Iraq was supposedly because of a 'connection' between Saddam Hussein and Al Quaida. Sure, Hussein was a murderer of his own people, and Al Quaida took almost 3,000 lives on September 11, 2001. I understand why we and the UN forces went into Afghanistan--to stop the training camps and members from trying to attack us, or any other Innocent country again.

But as far as invading Iraq--it served no purpose. It was and still is a War of Choice. We were conned by the Bush administration into thinking that Iraq had those 'mushroom clouds' of WMDs ready to attack our Allies or our US military bases near or in the Middle East. I just knew this could not be true, but all the sudden it was like 'either you're for the US or you're against us', and 'we will be greeted as Liberators' by the Iraqi citizens.

You know what happened--an Invasion on the Cheap, a chance for certain corporations to make tons of money (Halliburton, KBR and Blackwater come to mind) the chance for the Big OIL companies to get their foot in the door and take advantage of the war by offering their 'help', at a price.

With this War in Iraq, it was the start of the PNAC agenda. We should never have gotten involved, sent our US soldiers there or took our troops out of Afghanistan. I am pretty sure if we had stayed in Afghanistan that Al Quaida would reduced to a small band of radicals and that IF Hussein had tried to attack us, we would have been ready for it and the loss of any US soldier would have been so small.

Cheney is still going around trying to justify what he did and he's trying to make a fool out of President Obama. After what Cheney allowed and did for the PNAC agenda, he should be on his knees day and night, asking God to forgive him for starting this whole mess.

Gotta go, Obitchecker. Take Care, okay?

Mercedes

Sorry, Mercedes, responded to your above post before I saw this one. Thank you for the better tone in this post.obitcheckerMon, May 25, 2009 7:09:39
I should say I actually agree with you that we should've stayed in Afghanistan, though I don't think it would have been a quick and easy rout.obitcheckerFri, May 29, 2009 9:12:59
